Agios Andreas is on the east coast of the Messinia peninsula (approximately 40 kms from Kalamata and 260 kms from Athens) with views out to the Mani. It is a small laid back resort and legend says that the village is built on the ancient site of the famous temple of Apollo of Corinth.
People come here to relax, unwind and enjoy the hospitality of the local community. The area is still very traditional and it doesn't take long to forget all about the stresses you've left behind.
Approximately 100 mtrs inland you will find the 12th century Byzantine church of Ag. Andreas (pictured below).
The beach is sand and shingle with plenty of space to stretch out and enjoy the sun.
Village facilities include around 5 tavernas, bank, ATM machine, garage and supermarket. There are also a couple of cafe bars in the small square and a childrens park.
